Rumour
Hi, my name is Rumour and living in a small town of Corunna, Ontario
along the St Clair River. Since my Dog Guides graduation day of June
2006, my loving boss, Midge and I have since bonded, worked together to
make us a unique and devoted team.
I alert her to so many sounds as knocking, door bell,
phones, clock/alarm, tea kettle whistling
and most importantly the sound of the fire alarm. You see, Midge has a high frequency hearing
loss which simply means she can not hear high tone sounds at
all. Boy, I sure can! I also respond to name callings—Midge, Mom, Ma'am and Excuse me.
Sometimes she drops items as key chains and her wallet, I'd pick
them up for her. (I think she does sounds and droppings on purpose to keep me in
tune---she uses the stove timer even though she is not baking a cake!)
I am very fortunate to have met other HED's within 150 mile radius - the
closest being Forest, Ontario and the farthest is Cambridge, Ontario. Oh
yes, I have met another one in London. It is my hope that with
this forum, we'd share valuable information from anyone from North
America and around the world. I am hoping for new recipes for dog
treats to come this way and maybe Midge could use the stove timer for
real!!!!
